Sakho tempted by PSG exit

Paris Saint-Germain defender Mamadou Sakho is interested in leaving the Parc des Princes as he seeks regular first-team football.

The 23-year-old made 30 appearances for the Ligue 1 champions last season but still struggled to break past Thiago Silva and Alex into the heart of Carlo Ancelotti’s defence.

Now, even with new manager Laurent Blanc in charge, Sakho admits that a move elsewhere would prove tempting, with both Milan and Liverpool linked with the France international.

“I have to make a decision, PSG is my club, I was born here and I learned my football here. I want to play for this club all my life, but it is clear that I do not want to sit on the bench,” he said.

“I have not played as much as I would have liked last season because of the choices of the coach. Every player wants to play every week, too. There is an offer on the table.”

Sakho’s next move will be to speak with Blanc about his future before ultimately deciding on a course of action.

“I’ll be able to talk with the new coach and see what he thinks,” he continued.

“I am flattered by the interest of historic clubs like Liverpool and AC Milan. We will see what happens in the near future.”
