Sampdoria have admitted that they are keen on signing Fiorentina ace Giampaolo Pazzini in the January transfer window.
Reports says Pazzini is set to quit the Viola in January and Sampdoria is keen on signing him.
“We have a few problems in our attacking department,†stated sporting director Beppe Marotta. “But it isn’t easy to find the right kind of player in January.
“Saying that, Pazzini does have the characteristics of the player we require, but it’ll all be down to Fiorentina.
“If it will be possible to sign him with the funds we have available to us then we will get him, otherwise we’ll have to look elsewhere.â€Â
It is also believed that Sampdoria will send defender Jonathan Bottinelli on loan to an Argentine side next month due to family reasons.
