Veteran Inter defender Walter Samuel has signed a new one-year contract at the Serie A club.
The 35-year-old centre-back – who arrived at Inter in 2005 from Real Madrid – will extend his eight-year stay at the San Siro club with his fresh deal.
The Argentine assured the club, and their fans, that he would repay them for their faith in him.
“I’m very happy to have renewed my contract for another year,” Samuel told the club’s official website.
“Along with my team-mates, I hope I can give Inter a positive year and repay the club for the faith they’ve shown, since they still believe in me.”
Samuel has made 226 appearances for Inter during his career, scoring 15 goals.
Inter captain Javier Zanetti also signed a one-year deal yesterday.
Zanetti ruptured his Achilles tendon at the back end of last season and is expected to be out until the new year, but the 39-year-old is still determined to feature for Inter next term.
