Former Real Madrid attacker Hugo Sanchez is pleased with the way the club has been playing and is thrilled with the form of Cristiano Ronaldo.
Nevertheless, the Mexican feels Real perhaps rely too much on Ronaldo and has urged Karim Benzema and Gonzalo Higuain to contribute more to the team.
“I’m really happy with the way they’re playing: they’re extremely difficult to beat and ruthless,” Sanchez told Marca.
“Cristiano Ronaldo in particular has been ruthless. He leads the charge when it comes to goals. But Higuain and Benzema need to help him out more.”
Sanchez also had his say on promising youngster Raphael Varane and hailed Jose Mourinho’s decision to give the Frenchman a chance to prove his worth.
“It’s an interesting decision and a good call from Mourinho. His youthful exuberance, ability and coolness under pressure are a pleasure to behold, because it means Real have a centre-back for many years to come,” he said.
Varane has made 11 Liga appearances so far this term.
