Sanchez keen for Gunners to move for Vargas

Arsenal forward Alexis Sanchez has urged his manager to make a move for his international teammate Eduardo Vargas, according to the Metro.

The Napoli forward spent last season on loan at Queens Park Rangers, but managed just three goals in twenty-two appearances in all competitions.

However, his four goals in five appearances at the Copa America has given Chile a fighting chance of ending their ninety-nine year trophy drought.

Prior to his move to Loftus Road a year ago, the 25 year old also had temporary spells with both Valencia in Spain and Brazilian side Gremio.

Vargas scored both goals as Jorge Sampoali’s side beat Peru in the semi-finals in Santiago yesterday, and they will now face Argentina in this weekend’s final.

His international goals tally now stands at twenty-two in forty-five caps, five goals less than Sanchez, who was named PFA Fans Player of the Year after a stunning first season with the Gunners.
