Giuseppe Sannino has been appointed the new head coach of Serie A club Chievo.
The 56-year-old replaces Eugenio Corini, who departed by mutual consent in May after securing a 12th-place finish in the league.
Sannino left his position in charge of Palermo after he was unable to prevent the club from being relegated.
A statement on the club’s website read: “Chievo Verona can announce that it has entrusted Mr Guiseppe Sannino to guide the first team.
“The new coach will be presented to the media on Tuesday July 2.”
Reports suggest he will sign a two-year deal with the club after reaching an agreement with Palermo to end his tenure.
Palermo moved quickly to replace Sannino by hiring former Italy international Gennaro Gattuso on June 19.
