Roque Santa Cruz’ dream to play his trade in Manchester seems to still be alive as he is set to reunited with former Blackburn boss Mark Hughes. The Paraguayan had been linked with Manchester United earlier in the summer, but it looks like City are closer to the player’s signature, according to The Sun.
Santa Cruz would be on the market for about £15 million, according to the report and he would be eager to rejoin Mark Hughes who is reportedly confident of clinching a deal for the Blackburn player.
However, should the deal not be finalized, Mark Hughes has lined up a back-up. Diego Milito’s 15 La Liga goals last season could not save Zaragoza from relegation and the player now looks set to move on. The same report states that Hughes could have him for £7 million, although he will face competition from Tottenham according to another report in The Sun.
