Santos have denied rumours that Neymar could be on his way to Barcelona at the end of the 2012/13 season.

Reports circulated that Barca had paid an initial 10 million euros for an unnamed player – believed to be the young South American – who would move to Camp Nou at the season’s end.

However, the Sao Paulo giants have ruled out a sale of the Brazil international before 2014, when his current deal at the club expires.

“Santos reject any possibility of selling Neymar to Barcelona or any other team,” a statement on the club’s official website read.

“There are no negotiations under way, and the club reiterate that the attacker has a contract until 2014, which he will see out until the end.”

The 20-year-old has won 25 caps for his country, scoring 16 times in the process.
