(GSM) – Brazilian giants Sao Paulo returned to winning ways in the Copa Libertadores, beating Nacional of Paraguay 0-2 in Asuncion.
Sao Paulo had lost their last match to Once Caldas and needed a win in Paraguay in order to climb back to the top half of the table.
After a goalless first half at Arsenico Erico stadium, it was Washington to put the Brazilians in the lead on 59 minutes. The 34-year-old attacker, who also scored twice against Monterrey earlier this tournament, went on to add a second in the dying minutes.
Sao Paulo climb to second place in this group with six points from three games, behind Once Caldas but ahead of Monterrey and Nacional.
