Schalke to bid for Juventus midfielder

Schalke boss Felix Magath has singled out Mohamed Sissoko as his number one target in January.

The experienced coach has already come to terms with losing Ivan Rakitic and Jermaine Jones, and he sees the Juventus midfielder as the perfect fit for his midfield area.

The 25-year-old would cost somewhere in the area of €7 million and Juventus are reportedly eager to sell the Malian as they look to free up some cash to fund a purchase of a new striker.

Magath has already started building a very good side at Schalke, having brought Klaas Jan Huntelaar, Raul and Jurado last summer and he believes a holding midfielder like Sissoko would add a much needed balance to the side.

The fact Momo Sissoko would be able to help Schalke in the Champions League this season only adds to his appeal.
