Jermaine Jones is set to be sidelined until January. The Schalke 04 midfielder is suffering from a shin injury and needs to recover for another two months. He hasn’t played an official game for the Bundesliga side this season.

Jones picked up his injury during the pre-season and has been recovering since then. The German midfielder with American roots seemed on the verge of a return a couple of times but every time he suffered a relapse.

“We’re half way through November and it doesn’t look like he will be able to return to the pitch in four weeks from now,” according to Schalke coach Felix Magath.

The Bundesliga’s winter break will start at December 19 and last until January 16. Before then, Jones won’t be able to return to match action.
