Andre Schurrle has declared his happiness following the completion of his move from Bayer Leverkusen to Chelsea.
The 22-year-old striker’s deal was formalised on Tuesday as he penned a five-year contract to become manager Jose Mourinho’s first signing back at the Premier League club.
“It’s a great honour for me. I’m really happy now that I’ve signed and I’m enjoying every hour here. I can’t wait. I’m looking forward to training with the team and playing matches with this great team. I’m really happy now,” he said.
“It’s a great honour for me to play here for these fans, for this club. I hope we can win a lot of titles in the next five years.”
The German international played 42 games for Leverkusen in all competitions last season, scoring 14 goals.
The London club are believed to have spent around £18 million to secure Schurrle’s services.
