Bayern Munich midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger believes his side have room for improvement and wants more accuracy in the final third.

Jupp Heynckes’ men sit top of the Bundesliga, holding a comfortable 11-point lead over second-placed Bayer Leverkusen.

But the Germany international insists they cannot afford to sit back and relax.

“We’re trying to do one or two things even better. We have to keep on improving,” Schweinsteiger told the club’s website.

“The final pass has to be delivered more accurately because that’ll give us even more clear-cut chances.

“There are always moments in our play where we could get into position better and quicker.”

The influential midfielder also said his understanding with fellow midfielder Javi Martinez is getting better by the day.

“The partnership with Javi Martinez is fundamentally getting better and better, even though there are still some minor communication problems,” Schweinsteiger said.

“He got confused between right and left in the last match, but fortunately we were already 2-0 up.”

Bayern are preparing for Saturday’s Bundesliga match away against Mainz.
