Dundee United captain John Daly netted a stoppage-time goal as his side came from behind to salvage a 3-3 draw with Kilmarnock on Friday.

Daly headed home the leveller in the 92nd minute, sending fans into raptures at Tannadice Park.

Kilmarnock had taken an early lead through Cillian Sheridan, with the former Celtic striker hitting the back of the net with 30-yard free-kick on nine minutes.

Sheridan doubled the guests’ advantage after 30 minutes, sending the ball past helpless goalkeeper Radoslaw Cierzniak.

United reduced the deficit three minutes into the second half through Gary Mackay-Steven, who made his first start since August, but Paul Heffernan restored Kilmarnock’s two-goal advantage just three minutes later.

Daly gave Peter Houston’s men hope with a 56th-minute goal, nodding home Barry Douglas’ delightful cross.

Sheridan thought he had bagged a hat-trick but his 77th-minute goal was ruled out for offside.

That decision would come back to haunt Kilmarnock as Daly completed United’s comeback with a diving header from another Douglas cross.
