According to Sebastian Coe, the organising committee chairman of the London Olympic Games in 2012, Sir Alex Ferguson would be the ideal coach for England Olympic team.
Coe told BBC Radio Five Live that he had spoken to Sir Alex about the idea. Sir Alex is set to retire within the next couple of years.
Coe went on to add that Ferguson was the ideal coach/manager to have looking after the Under 23 players. He has proved in the past that he has an excellent track record when it comes to the nurturing of the youth.
Sir Alex has yet to comment on the talks that took place.
England has not sent a football team to the Olympic Games since 1960.
