(GSM) – Anderlecht are the first leaders in the Belgian Pro League following a 4-1 victory over newcomers AS Eupen in their season opener.

The first half in Brussels had almost reached it end when Alex silenced the home crowd by surprisingly putting Eupen in a 1-0 lead.

But Matias Suarez leveled near the hour and Jonathan Legear completed the turn-around another seven minutes later.

In the 71st minute, Suarez made it 3-1 and Mbark Boussoufa made it 4-1 in the dying minutes.

Gent needed a late winner to beat Westerlo 0-1 as Elimane Coulibaly scored in the penultimate minute of regular time.

Club Brugge had a disastrous season start at Kortrijk, losing 1-0 as result of a Davy De Beule goal in the 56th minute.
