Clarence Seedorf has played down reports that he is bound for Botafogo but says he has received several offers from interested clubs.
The former Netherlands international recently confirmed that he will be leaving AC Milan, with his contract with the Rossoneri set to expire at the end of June.
It was expected that Seedorf would also announce his decision to move to Botafogo at the specially-arranged press conference, but the veteran midfielder insists that his future is still up in the air and requires a few days to decide his next move.
“What I can say is that I have never before in my career received so many offers,” the Dutchman said.
“I need some time to think and make a decision, just as I did before I left Inter and signed with Milan in 2002.
“But you will know my future soon. In the coming days, everyone will know, but I want to try a new experience; it’s time for a change.”
Seedorf won two Serie A titles and two Champions League crowns during his decade-long stint with the Rossoneri.
