Serdar Tasci set for Spartak exit

Former Germany international Serdar Tasci is set to leave Spartak Moscow, according to Izvestia.

The highly rated defender joined the Russian giants in a €4 million deal from Stuttgart in the summer, but he has utterly failed to prove his worth in Russia.

Tasci missed the start of the season through injury and went on to make just one league appearance for the club.

Having failed to justify the transfer fee, the German defender is likely to be offloaded in the summer, together with fellow summer signing Joao Carlos.

Spartak Moscow plan a major squad overhaul following yet another disappointing season and the two stoppers will be the first to leave.

Prior to joining the Russian giants, Tasci had enjoyed plenty of success with Stuttgart, making 181 Bundesliga appearances, scoring 9 goals and winning the 2006/2007 title in the process.

After holding local rivals Lokomotiv to a goalless draw, Spartak are 2/5 to return to winning ways against Ural.
