Seri agrees Barcelona contract

Nice midfielder Jean-Michael Seri has reached an agreement with Barcelona on a four-year contract, according to L’Equipe.

The Catalans decided to step up their interest in the Ivorian after a slow start to the season, and they have now made a breakthrough.

But, despite persuading the player to join, Barcelona still need to agree a transfer fee with Nice, and initial round of talks is reportedly scheduled for Monday.

Seri did have a €40 million release clause in his contract, but said option expired in July, meaning that les Aiglons again have the upper hand.

The 26-year-old enjoyed an excellent campaign last term, having managed 7 goals and 9 assists in 34 Ligue 1 matches.
