Juventus extended their unbeaten run at home to six matches with a 3-0 win over Siena in Sunday’s Serie A action.

The Turin-based club extended their lead at the top of the table to seven points with the win, although second-placed Napoli can cut their advantage when they travel to Udinese on Monday.

Juve were rarely troubled in their latest triumph and controlled possession during the majority of the encounter, while they also had 17 shots on goal to the five of Siena.

Austrian defender Stephan Lichtsteiner set the reigning champions on the right path after 30 minutes, converting from close range after Siena goalkeeper Gianluca Pegolo parried a Mirko Vucinic effort into his path.

Andrea Pirlo and Paul Pogba were terrific in the middle for Juve but they were unable to kill off the game, spurning a series of chances.

Antonio Conte’s side extended the lead with 16 minutes to play though, with forward Sebastian Giovinco thrashing a strike past Pegolo.

Siena enjoyed a brief spell of dominance, with Innocent Emeghara testing Gianluigi Buffon before Christian Terlizzi hit the post from 18 yards.

Pogba’s late effort wrapped up a straightforward win for Juve, with the former Manchester United midfielder scoring from the edge of the area.

Elsewhere, eighth-placed Roma backed up their upset win over Juventus last week with a 3-2 win at Atalanta.

Croatian Marko Livaja netted twice for the hosts in the first half but efforts from Marquinho and Miralem Pjanic ensured the scores were locked at 2-2 at the break.

The unlikely source of Greek defender Vassilis Torosidis got the winner for Roma with 19 minutes remaining, while Atalanta had defender Matteo Contini sent off for a second yellow card with one minute left.

In other results, first-half strikes from Francesco Lodi and Keko helped Catania to a 2-1 win at Parma, while Sampdoria scored in each half in a routine 2-0 home success over Chievo.

Cagliari claimed a thrilling 4-3 home win over Torino.

With scores locked at 2-2 heading into the final five minutes, Catania thought they had done enough for victory when Daniele Conti netted a late goal.

But Rolando Bianchi’s stoppage-time penalty saw the nine-man Torino outfit level proceedings.

Conti was determined to be the hero though, and his goal in the fourth minute of stoppage time helped Cagliari record a sensational win that keeps their unbeaten run – which is now up to seven matches – alive.
