Sevilla’s Spahic agrees Anzhi loan

Sevilla stopper Emir Spahic has agreed to join Anzhi on loan until the end of the season, the Spanish club announced on their official website.

According to Marca, the Russian club have agreed to pay €2.5 million for a four-month loan, while they also have the option to make the transfer permanent for additional €1.5 million at the end of the season.

Sevilla officials were not too keen on letting their key defender leave the club ahead of the season finale, but they had no choice but to accept the lucrative offer due to their difficult financial situation.

Emir Spahic has also decided to waive the money owed to him by los Rojiblancos on account of unpaid wages.

The Bosnian international arrives in Makhachkala as a replacement for Christopher Samba and he is expected to slot straight into the starting line-up.

The 32-year-old has made a total of 44 La Liga appearances during the two years at Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan.
