Hull City and Sheffield Wednesday square off this afternoon at Wembley in the Championship playoff final. Hull City booked their place in the final with a two-legged victory over Derby County, but recent poor form away from home could be to Wednesday’s advantage.

In addition to almost throwing away their 3-0 aggregate lead in the playoff semi-final, finishing 3-2 overall, Hull City dropped points in 11 of their last 18 league games. The Tigers haven’t beaten Wednesday in their last two league meetings either, and their results away from the KC Stadium is worrying (two wins from seven away games).

Sheffield Wednesday should benefit from being underdogs today, but they certainly have the quality to get one over Hull. The Owls hit their best form in the second-half of the season, and such momentum could well see them over the line in the playoff final.
