Competition: League One

Market: Shrewsbury to beat Rochdale

Odds: 19/10 @ Bet365

Two sides that are involved in battles at different ends of the table, on Friday afternoon Paul Hurt’s high-flying Shrews will travel to Rochdale to meet a side seen as firm favorites in the relegation battle.

For Keith Hill’s Rochdale side, despite an eye-catching FA Cup run this season and a ninth-place finish last season, the Dale have drastically struggled in League One this season. Now five points adrift of safety, it has been their attacking form that has been their key problem. Only finding the net 35 times in their 36 games, no team in League One has scored fewer goals than the Dale. On the brink of relegation, while Rochdale have shown brief signs of life by drawing three of their last four, Rochdale appear to be in for another tough test this weekend against an inform Shrewsbury side.

As for the visitors, Paul Hurt’s Shrews have transformed themselves into League One’s surprise package this season. After barely avoiding relegation last year, Shrewsbury now sit top of the table and the prospect of Championship football is looking increasingly likely. Continuing their fine run of form with a 1-0 win at AFC Wimbledon last weekend, Shrewsbury are now unbeaten in their last seven outings and boast the second best defensive record in League One, keeping five clean sheets in their last seven.
