Atletico Madrid’s Diego Simeone has revealed his desire to return to former club Inter Milan as coach.

The Argentine is making a name for himself in charge of Atletico, who are second in La Liga, but it would appear he is already thinking about his future away from the Vicente Calderon.

Simone enjoyed a successful few years with Inter as a player from 1996 to 1999, and has now set his sights on managing at San Siro.

“Sooner or later, one day, I will be the coach of Inter,” the 42-year-old told Sky Sport Italia.

“I left many positive memories as a player at Sevilla, Lazio and Inter. This makes me believe that some day I could also be coach of these teams.

“After all, it happened with Atletico Madrid. I did well here as a player and now I must do well as a coach. We’ll see what destiny has to say.”
