Manchester United have made their final bid for the troubled Tottenham Hotspur and Bulgarian striker Dimitar Berbatov.
The bid is said to be ₤25 million which is higher than the previous one of ₤20 million last week but way short of the ₤30 million asked for by Spurs.
The deal could go through seeing that Berbatov has landed himself in deep water by not wanting to play against Sunderland at the weekend as he was not in the best of frames of mind.
Sir Alex would be keen to sign the player by the coming weekend to bolster his squad in view of the fact that his injury list is a long one.
