Could Sir Alex Ferguson really return to replace David Moyes at Man Utd?

Competition: Premier League
Market: Sir Alex Ferguson to be next permanent Man Utd manager
Odds: 5/2 @ Ladbrokes

With Manchester United’s woeful season showing little signs of improvement, manager David Moyes is being tipped by some to be exiting the club with former long-serving boss Sir Alex Ferguson to make a sensational return. Ladbrokes are giving odds of 5/2.

Dubbed one of the worst Premier League defences in history, the current league holders are struggling to maintain sixth place in the league, and are 90 minutes away from a Champions League exit at the hands of Olympiakos.

Following defeat to the Greek side in the first leg, Moyes faced intense speculation on his future, but the club remain unmoved in their support for the Scot. Nevertheless, there will come a time where his position is genuinely being considered if the club continue to greatly underachieve under him.

Manchester United are currently three points adrift of Moyes’ former club Everton with 11 games still to play. If no improvement is made under Moyes, worry will start to creep in among the hierarchy. Will Sir Alex Ferguson return to save the day for Manchester United?
