Paris Saint-Germain goalkeeper Salvatore Sirigu says that he will not let criticism of his team in the media affect him.

Carlo Ancelotti’s side started the Ligue 1 season unbeaten, but have since slipped to disappointing home defeats to Rennes and Saint-Etienne, and now share top spot with Marseille.

“(PSG) are my team, and I’m always there to defend them,” the former Palermo man told RMC Sport.

“I will not talk about things beyond the game that will only hurt the club. When we play bad, I will say so. But I don’t always try to find something wrong with the team.

“There are many media expectations of this team, but that is not a problem as we are professionals and do not look at it too much.

“What happens off the field is not an issue for us. We must play. That is our job.”

Sirigu recorded a clean sheet as PSG beat struggling Troyes 4-0 on Saturday.
