Škriniar to remain at Inter

Inter Milan’s Milan Škriniar has expressed his wish to stay at the club past this summer’s transfer window, Corriere dello Sport have reported.

The 23-year-old Slovakian centre-back has been linked with a move to Manchester United after having a notable first season with the Nerazzurri, but he has dismissed those reports.

He says he’s happy at Inter and that’s the only important thing in the matter. He’s not interested in what’s going on in the transfer market at all. His wish is to represent Inter in the Champions League next season after the success of the 2017/18 campaign. His current contract with the club runs until the summer of 2022, but Inter are already working on a new deal that would keep him at the Giuseppe Meazza longer than that.

Škriniar even went as far as making comments on the future of Mauro Icardi, but all he said is that the striker must make a decision for himself. In the end, he added that the arrival of Stefan De Vrij from Lazio will help the team have another good season.
