Sociedad agree Finnbogason deal

Real Sociedad have agreed a deal in principle for the transfer of Heerenveen striker Alfred Finnbogason, it was announced on Wednesday.

The 25-year-old Iceland international has agreed a four-year deal at Anoeta and has passed a medical at the Liga outfit.

Finnbogason is now expected to complete the formalities of his move, bringing an end to his two-year stay in the Eredivisie.

“Real Sociedad has this afternoon reached an agreement in principle with Heerenveen for striker Alfred Finnbogason,” read a statement on Sociedad’s official website.

“The club has also reached an agreement with the Icelandic international to join our team until June 30, 2018.

“(He) has already passed a medical.”

Finnbogason has courted interest from several teams throughout Europe, after a highly impressive return of 53 goals in 65 league appearances during his two seasons at Heerenveen.
