Sociedad sign former Barca keeper

Real Sociedad have completed the signing of goalkeeper Oier Olazabal from Granada, the club revealed on its official website.

La Real have paid €200,000 for a season-long loan, while they also have the option to make the transfer permanent.

Real Sociedad had been looking for a new shot-stopper with experienced goalkeeper Enaut Zubikarai having left the club in the summer.

They have now secured the signature of Oier Olazabal, who will challenge Geronimo Rulli for a starting berth at Anoeta.

The 25-year-old came through the famous La Masia youth school and went on to make 57 appearances for Barcelona B.

Olazabal featured in just one competitive game for the senior squad during his time at Camp Nou, before joining Granada on a free transfer last summer.

The talented goalkeeper made a total of 14 La Liga appearances for los Rojiblancos last season and will now have a chance to gain even more top flight experience.
