Spain World Cup star wants a new challenge

The Yellow Submarine have recently made the Spain international available for sale and now the player himself has confirmed that he wants to leave Villarreal.

“I have to go to training on Thursday and you never know what can happen, but I know what I want. My intention is to leave Villarreal,” Capdevila told Tarrega Radio.

“I will study all my options and hopefully I can find one that allows me to leave.”

The Spain international says that staying at Villarreal wouldn’t be the right thing to do.

“For now I have a contract there, but as I already said, I do not think that would be good for either party.”

Capdevilla signed a new deal in January, but has since lost his starting place at El Madrigal, which is the main reason why he is eager to move elsewhere.

One of the star performers at the 2010 World Cup in South Africa, the 33-year-old also lost a starting place in Vicente Del Bosque’s team and is hoping that a change of scenery would help him return to the national side.
