Spartak Moscow are ready to make Dutch winger Quincy Promes the highest paid footballer in club’s history, Izvestia can reveal.

The Netherlands international has developed into a key member of the side at Okrytiye Arena over the last year or so, catching the eye of quite a few top clubs in the process.

However, he has surprisingly resisted temptation to leave Spartak for greener pastures, suggesting he was happy to end his playing days at the club.

As a result, Quincy is set to be rewarded with a new and improved contract that will see his yearly wage increase from €1.5 million to €3 million.

That would make the 24-year-old the club’s highest paid player ever, with defender Salvatore Bochetti holding the record with €2.7m salary at the moment.

Quincy Promes joined Spartak Moscow from Twente two years ago and he has since scored impressive 26 goals in 52 league appearances.
