Sporting eye up Dost & Carvalho replacements

According to Record, Portuguese side Sporting CP are looking towards replacements for Bas Dost & William Carvalho as their hectic summer transfer window continues. Carvalho’s move away from the club has already been confirmed with Dost’s not being too far away, and as they aim to push their way back into the title picture in Portugal, they’ll need to ensure that they find suitable replacements for those positions.

Islam Slimani and Javi Garcia are the two names that have been mentioned in the report, with Sporting set to do everything in their power to avoid falling any further down the pecking order in Portugal. While they’ve never been viewed as a side who are amongst Europe’s elite they’ll still want to be known for being more than just ‘the team that produced Cristiano Ronaldo’, and as such, they need to make these kinds of moves in order to get back to the point where they want to be.
