Sporting in talks with former Inter winger

O Jogo has learned that Sporting Lisbon are hot on the trail of former Inter Milan full-back Ezequiel Schelotto.

The Italian footballer was released from his contract by Nerazzurri after he failed to find a new club during the summer transfer window.

And it has now been revealed that Sporting Lisbon have emerged as favourites for his signature, with the player’s agent Paulo Emanuel Mendes set to try and negotiate a deal with the Lions.

Ezequiel Schelotto was born in Argentina, but began his professional career in Italy, and went on to represent Cesena, Atalanta, Inter Milan, Sassuolo, Parma and Chievo, making a total of 152 Serie A appearances and scoring 9 goals.

The highly rated winger, who can operate on either side of the pitch, even made one appearance for the Italian national team, coming on as a second half substitute in a 2-1 friendly defeat to England back in August 2012.
