Sporting reject bids for Veloso

Portugal midfielder Miguel Veloso will remain at Sporting Lisbon after the club rejected bids from Premier League outfits Bolton and Newcastle.

“Miguel Veloso remains at Sporting”, Veloso’s agent, Paulo Barbosa, said. “He missed the training session for personal reasons; nothing to do with the course of the negotiations.”

Sporting snubbed an offer from Bolton reported to be worth 12million euros. “Newcastle have made a written offer but Sporting have rejected it also,” he said.
