Spurs hoping to hijack Juventus’ bid for Zaza

Turin-based media outlet Tuttosport has learned that Tottenham Hotspur are hot on the trail of Sassuolo striker Simone Zaza.

Media reports from Italy earlier suggested that Juventus were almost certain to re-sign the forward next summer, as they have the option to purchase the player for €15 million at the end of the season.

However, Tuttosport understands that Tottenham are also keen on Zaza and are currently in talks with Sassuolo as they hope to recruit the striker in the January window.

It is no secret that Spurs are on the lookout for a quality centre forward and they seem to have made the Italy international their number one target.

Simone Zaza has seen his stock rise a great deal over the last year or so, and he has been in fine form this season, netting 7 times in 13 league outings.

The 23-year-old also started three Euro 2016 qualifiers for Italy and scored one goal in the process.
