Spurs keen on Lukaku deal

Tottenham Hotspur are ready to open talks with Chelsea over a deal to sign Romelu Lukaku, according to the Metro.

The North London club are keen to add a striker next season to help them qualify for the Champions League having missed out this time around and have identified the Belgium international, who is currently on loan with Everton, as their top target.

The 20 year old has been in fine form for the Toffees this season with fifteen goals in thirty-two appearances in all competitions, having had an equally impressive spell with West Bromwich Albion last year.

Spurs’ chairman Daniel Levy is keen to begin discussions after this weekend’s final round of Premier League fixtures, but he is likely to face competition from both Everton and La Liga leaders Atletico Madrid.

Tottenham host Aston Villa on Sunday afternoon, and need just a point to guarantee qualification for next season’s Europa League.
