Spurs leading Delph chase

Tottenham Hotspur are set make a move for Aston Villa midfielder Fabian Delph, according to the Daily Star.

The 24 year old is set to be out of contract at the end of the season, and talks over a new deal at Villa Park have so far failed to materialise.

A number of Premier League clubs are set to battle for the services of the England international, though Spurs are leading the chase as manager Mauricio Pochettino looks to remould his squad.

Delph began his career with Leeds United, making fifty-three appearances for them before moving to Villa in the summer of 2009.

He is closing in on one-hundred appearances for the Midlands club, while he won the first of three full England caps in the 1-0 friendly win over Norway in September.

However, last month he dislocated his shoulder and has thus been left out of Roy Hodgson’s squad for the forthcoming games against Slovenia and Scotland.
