Spurs step up chase for Carlos Bacca

Premier League outfit Tottenham Hotspur appear to be readying a summer bid for Sevilla striker Carlos Bacca, according to Sunday People.

Spurs aim to recruit a high-profile striker in the summer in order to take some pressure of star player Harry Kane and the Colombian appear to be high on their wish list.

Sunday People is reporting that head of recruitment Paul Mitchell made a check on the highly rated forward in Thursday’s Europa League clash between Borussia M’gladbach and Sevilla.

This is enough to suggest Spurs are seriously thinking about luring Bacca to White Hart Lane at the end of the season.

The 28-year-old has an £18 million release clause in his current deal and he is believed to be looking for a new challenge, with Atletico Madrid also keen.

His suitors Tottenham face local rivals Chelsea in the Capital One Cup final at Wembley and are 5/2 shot to lift the coveted trophy.
