Tottenham Hotspur confirmed their aspirations for the coming seasons by stunning Italian side AS Roma 5-0.
The two sides faced each other for a friendly at White Hart Lane on Sunday, and the home side never gave their opponents a chance.
New signing David Bentley had his dream debut by scoring from a free kick after just three minutes. And things got even better for the Spurs when Darren Bent doubled the lead a minute later.
Just before the break, Bentley netted his second of the day and Bent did exactly the same nine minutes into the second half.
Meanwhile, Aaron Lennon had already put his name on the score board as well to help his side earn an impressive 5-0 victory.

Was at the game and every Spurs player on that pitch had a good day! Fantastic, makes me very optimistic for the August 16th!

I love Darren Ante, he’s my favourite!!!!!!
P.S we were great today, I thought this would be a great challenge because Roma are a champions league side. Top four may not be realistic this season but you can see what Ramos is doing. We need three more signings, a defensive midfielder (Miguel Veloso) and centre back(?) and a second striker (Arshavin).
