Juande Ramos wants to strengthen his defensive lines and, after failing to finalize a move for Manchester City captain, Richard Dunne, Ferdinand has emerged as his top target. Tottenham’s back-line has looked suspect this past season after constant injuries to Ledley King and the inconsistency of Kaboul. The media and fans are of the belief that £6 million Ferdinand could be the cure to Spurs’ defensive weaknesses.
If the transfer does go through, it might be seen as a message of intent from other mid-table clubs who will have seen Tottenham spend more than anybody else in England so far this summer.
