Stefan de Vrij reportedly agrees deal with Premiership club

Il Messaggero is reporting that Lazio defender Stefan de Vrij is almost certain to leave Stadio Olimpico at the end of the season.

The highly rated footballer will be out of contract at the end of the current campaign, but he was reportedly ready to sign a one-year extension with the Biancocelesti.

However, Il Messaggero claims that De Vrij has already agreed to join an unnamed Premier League club on a free transfer in the summer.

This is probably the main reason why the contract talks have not been concluded successfully, and it seems that the Netherlands international will not be staying at Stadio Olimpico for much longer.

De Vrij did well to establish himself as one of Serie A’s leading centre-backs, and he was heavily linked with a move to Liverpool in the past, so a summer move to Anfield could be on the cards.
