Sky Sports report, quoting their own sources, that Real Madrid have reignited their interest in Manchester City’s Raheem Sterling.
The England winger has two years remaining on his contract with the Premier League holders, and the negotiations about a new deal have broken down earlier this summer. Sterling moved from Liverpool to Manchester City under similar circumstances in 2015, having rejected a new deal and insisted on the move happening.
The situation with City hasn’t quite come to that point but Real have apparently been monitoring the 23-year-old’s form and are set to send representatives to England’s clash with Spain at Wembley as part of the UEFA Nations League on September 8.
Last season was by far the best one in Sterling’s career so far, almost doubling his best goal tally from before by putting the ball in the net 23 times in 46 games. It was closely followed by a very good outing at World Cup, helping England reach the semifinals of the tournament. This term he played twice so far and scored one goal.
