Steve Mandanda wants Marseille return

Crystal Palace goalkeeper Steve Mandanda has reportedly set his sights on returning to Stade Velodrome, according to France Football.

In spite of all their problems, Marseille remain an attractive destination for top French footballers as witnessed by Dimitri Payet’s desire to leave West Ham and return to OM.

And it appears that another France international wants to do the same as Steve Mandanda seems to have regretted leaving Stade Velodrome.

The 31-year-old only made 9 Premier League appearances for Crystal Palace since joining on a free transfer in the summer and he is reportedly keen on rejoining Marseille.

But, even though OM would gladly take him back, a January transfer is highly unlikely as the Eagles need two quality goalkeepers now that they are fighting for their lives.

However, they may be prepared to consider selling Mandanda at the end of the season, especially if they fail to avoid the drop.
