Stoke bid for Burnley’s Keane rebuffed

Burnley have rejected a £7m approach from Stoke City for defender Michael Keane according to the Metro.

The twenty-three-year-old came through the Manchester United academy but made just one senior appearance for the Red Devils.
He had loan spells with Leicester City, Derby County, Blackburn Rovers and Burnley before signing permanently for the Clarets twelve months ago.

He has played fifty-one times in all competitions for Sean Dyche’s side, with all three of his goals for the club coming in the league this season and his manager is keen to retain his services as he looks to steer the Lancashire side back to the top flight at the first time of asking.

Internationally, Keane has been capped sixteen times for England’s U21s and has scored three goals.

They currently sit in fourth place, five points behind the automatic promotion places and face third place Derby County on Monday evening.
