Stoke City have completed the signing of Xherdan Shaqiri for a club record fee of £12m, according to the Express.
The Switzerland international, who was in the crowd as Mark Hughes’ side lost 1-0 to Liverpool on Sunday afternoon, becomes Stoke’s ninth new addition this summer a month after a deal looked off the cards.
Shaqiri spent the second half of last season with Inter Milan, playing for them twenty times in all competitions and scoring three times.
Prior to his move to the San Siro he spent two-and-a-half years with Bayern Munich winning multiple major honours, as he did with his first club FC Basel in his native Switzerland.
He has also scored seventeen goals in forty-six appearances for his country – three of which came in a 3-0 win over Honduras at last summer’s World Cup finals in Brazil.
Stoke travel to Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday afternoon, with the away win priced at 15/4.
