Dean Whitehead joined Stoke City from rival Premier League side Sunderland on Friday for an initial fee of three million pounds, which could rise to five million pounds.
The 27-year-old midfielder has agreed a four-year contract and could make his Stoke debut in Saturday’s friendly against Preston North End.
