Stones wanted by big hitters

Jose Mourinho is set to have a battle on his hands if we wants to sign Everton centre-back John Stones, according to the Telegraph.

The Portuguese manager is set to named as the new manager of Manchester United in the coming days, and has already been linked with a number of big name players.

However, he will face stiff competition from the likes of Manchester City and Barcelona in the race to secure the services of Stones, who is currently on international duty with England in preparation for this summer’s European Championships in France.

Stones moved to Everton from Barnsley two-and-a-half years ago and has since racked up almost one hundred appearances for the Premier League outfit, scoring his one and only goal for them so far in a 3-0 win over Manchester United in April 2015.

He has been capped nine times for his country, with his latest appearance coming in Sunday’s 2-1 friendly win over Turkey.
