No less than eight goals were scored in Wednesday’s international friendly between Brazil and Portugal.
Unfortunately for the Portuguese, they only managed to net two while Brazil impressed with six goals. The score was opened after just four minutes through Portugal’s Danny but Luis Fabiano levelled another four minutes later.
The forwaded added another on 25 minutes and Maicon made it 3-1 in the 56th. Another two minutes later, Luis Fabiano netted his third to complete a hat-trick.
Simao then got one back for Portugal but goals from Blumer Elano and Adriano earned the South Americans a very comfortable 6-2 victory.
The win is Brazil’s first over Portugal since 1996. Portugal won two of the three meetings since, one ended in a draw.
