Competition: Premier League
Market: Everton to finish bottom half
Odds: 7/4 @ Bet 365

Following a 3-2 away defeat to Newcastle, Everton end 2014 in poor shape. The Merseyside club have matched last season’s total of league defeats already (8), while manager Roberto Martinez finds his position under pressure. Everton are 12th in the table, with 21 points to their name, coming off the back of three consecutive defeats.

The Blues are eight places and 16 points worse off than they were at the mid-point of last season, and supporters are worried about their chances of turning the campaign around. Everton have picked up just one win in their last seven games, and are four points adrift of the sides in the top-half of the table.

As a result, Bet 365 are giving odds of 7/4 for Everton to finish the season in the bottom half of the table. They are closer to the relegation zone than they are to the top-eight, which currently caps a poor second season in charge for Martinez. Five wins from 19 league games tells its own story.
